A reason why she is a Forty: She is active in global and local initiatives supporting diversity and inclusion. As a member of the 40th anniversary committee for the Young Women’s Resource Center, she helped to identify and recognize 40 Iowa women who were first in their field by planning a sold-out event called “Breaking Barriers: A Celebration of Female Firsts.”  

What drives her: Bielski lost her father when she was 19 and at college. “Getting through that year took a lot of support from my friends, who listened to my grief but never let it overcome me. Since that time, I’ve remained supported by my family, friends and colleagues and I continue to pursue success in a manner that I hope makes my father proud,” she said.

An interesting fact about Bielski: She enjoys practicing hot yoga and the mental and physical therapy it provides.
