What's your biggest passion, and why?

Building connections. I’ve seen the immense benefit for individuals as well as organizations and communities when people come together and connect across various industries, professions and demographics, and I’m always looking for opportunities to help personally or professionally.

What are your goals in your role at work?

My goal is to help position Iowa as a leader in technology and innovation. This involves enhancing technology education and training, supporting our vibrant innovation ecosystem, and advocating for policies that fuel innovation and drive economic opportunities for all Iowans.

What are your goals in a role outside of work?

My goal is to continue to contribute to our community in meaningful and impactful ways, leaving this community better than it was. I’m passionate about access to quality education for all children and empowering young girls and women to build skills and self-confidence.

Tell us about an experience or memory that influenced how you see the world or what you want to do in life.

Having grown up here, living in other states during and after college gave me a new perspective on Des Moines. When I decided to move back and change careers, I knew I wanted to find a role that would allow me to contribute to the community and play an active part in making Iowa the best it can be.

What are your aspirations for the future?

I aspire to continue advancing TAI's mission and help grow Iowa's dynamic tech industry. As a mother, I am dedicated to raising my children with my husband to be kind, independent and confident individuals. Also, I'd like to learn French.

What's one piece of advice you'd give to a young professional?

Show up. It can be easy to blow off one more meeting or event, happy hour or volunteer opportunity, but you never know what opportunity may come your way or who you may meet. Show up, be present, engaged and ready to seize unexpected opportunities.

What is one thing you would like to see Central Iowa leaders address, and why?
